    Default Repairs Will Cost £1000

Well after three weeks of having no car the nice man from the garage called today and told me how much it will cost to fix! With the vat and oil change it will be almost a grand just not what i wanted in the New year. Never mind just another crap 150 diesel vec with a familiar problem inlet manifold swirl flaps. They even cleaned the EGR valve so not being replaced.
Hopefully the job will go well and the car will be fuel efficient again like 40 to the gallon it was only doing 30.
Wish i had have never bought it now and stuck with my trusty V6's they seldom let me down in 8 years lol

Stripping it down replacing the inlet manifold for a new one with all new gaskets and nuts and bolts also cleaned egr, valve throttle body and blanking off the egr valve with just a small hole in it. Diagnostics checks and trailering the car down to the garage labour, parts and 20% VAT and 40 for changing oil and filter.
    All told maybe £975

Surely you can get it done for less than this? You can get a genuine inlet manifold off eBay brand new for 150.00 and I'm not sure if you need a new actuator but even so that is alot of money!

Too late mate this job is out of my league and i had two so called mechanics say they would come and look at it never turned up. I am only so patient i have to rely on my car for work, three weeks with out car is nightmare for me. just went to a proper garage who are fixing it. The car was a non runner inlet manifold was seized up so just would not start engine. I can only take so much crap with a motor.

Ita ok fella its not your fault i think all this things are the same when you really need advice and help it seldom there. In the end you have to just do what you think is right and get it fixed no matter the cost.
How many times have you heard people say after the fact if only i had known i could have done this or that, it just life guys.
