I thought that most modern cables were "self adjusting" these days.... the last time I adjusted a cable was on an escort ages ago and it was full of piddly little plastic clips that broke as soon as I touched `em....good luck mate....

    How's this?:

    Parking Brake, Adjust

    H907500

Note: Before adjusting the parking brake the drum brake must be set on vehicles with drum brake

    Remove

    1. Unclip gaiter of parking brake lever (1) from centre console and pull upwards.

    2. Turn back adjusting nut (3)
Note: The adjusting nut (3) must be turned back fully
    • Depress brake pedal fully at least 3 times
Note: To adjust the play on the parking brake at the brake calliper or drum hum
Note: The adjustment lever may no longer be heard to skip.

    3. Tighten parking brake lever (2) as far as the 3rd notch
    • Turn adjusting nut at parking brake lever until the rear wheels can still just be turned

    • Tighten parking brake/drum hub to the 7th notch
Note: The brake must now be firm. The braking effect must be equally great on both sides

From looking at TIS and personal experience of changing rear discs and pads I don't think that any adjustment is not possible or necessary on the Vec-c. The hand brake does self adjust by way of a special pair pistons on the rear pads, when the pads are changed these must be both turned clockwise and pushed at the same time back home into their carriers, perhaps your rear pads are getting low if the hand brake feels tight? Have you had a look at them recently or noticed any squeeking from the back when braking? The pad wear sensor only exists on the front nearside so you will not see a warning if this still has sufficient meat on even if other corners don't.
