Default Wobble between 20 and 30 mph

Not sure if this is suspension related or not but I have a bit of a wobble in the car between 20 and 30. Above that all is fine.

Its like a some big guy in the passenger seat moving his weight from side to side doing a hula hoop.

I have checked the passenger seat and there is no hula hooping large person in it.

Not sure what might be - any ideas?

How old are the tyres? Have they been kerbed? Have they been balanced? This happened to me about a year ago, had a vibration exactly as described coming through the rear of the car. Balancing did nothing at all, but at such a low speed, even an unbalanced wheel is unlikely to cause a vibration... I changed the rear tyres and it was perfect

If the tyres are old, I'd change them

    Cheers guys.

I had a vibration through the car a few months ago and had the rears rebalanced and that cured it. This was a vibration tho and what I have now is a definite wobble.

Front tyres are fine but the rears are approaching the markers and I was going to change them anyway. Car is in for a service tomorrow and I was just wondering if there was anything ominous rather than tyres.

    Thanks for the replies.

If the rears are approaching the markers, and have been on the rear of the car all their life, then I'm guessing they've done a LOT of miles?? Without a boubt, this will be your problem

Spot on guys - bulge in the rear tyre. Picked up at the MOT.

    New tyres sorted it.

    Thanks to all who replied.
