Problems with Starting Car

The car is auto transmission.
Over the last week I have had a slight problem starting the car.

When I switch the ignition on the car goes through it’s checks as normal but upon completion the display on the dash where it indicates it’s in P, D or R, 1, 2, 3 etc is displayed as a dash and the anti skid light and the symbol next to it (not sure what it is) on the dash stay illuminated and the car will not start, just no response whatsoever.

If I switch the Ignition off and do the procedure again it seems to be OK.

This has happened on 3 occasions in the last 10 days, any ideas of what the problem can be?

It's a 1.9 CDTi 150

Could it be a dirty micro-switch on the gear selector somewhere?

I am no expert but there must be one somewhere which tells the car not to start unless it's in park

Try to locate it and give it a blast of 'pressurised air' to clean it out

There must also be a switch of some sort on the brake pedal too i would think

Both the Power Assisted Steering and Anti Skid Symbol lights are on permanently and am not able to start the car.

Any ideas?

Problem was the UEC Realay (whatever that is).

Repaired under VX Extended Warrahty
