    Default One Thing After Another

Having a knightmare at the moment.

Two weeks before Christmas EGR starts sticking, so swapped out for a new one and manifold, boost sensor cleaned.

Then Sunday, front spring snapped. Had to get towed from York to Bristol, then had both front springs changed yesterday.

Today driving home car begins to struggle, felt like I was in too low a gear. Car began to shake, car with spanner light comes on, drop down a gear and put foot down, light out then struggle again, light back on.

Popped into the garage who did the springs and code reader says,

Third Injector Loom?? or something like that. Does this sound about right??

    Mine is a Signum Design, 1.9CDTi 150, 55 plate.

I've removed the cable, given it a wipe and the car seems ok now. Will this need doing now? Will reseating the cable hold for a while or am I likely to have the same trouble tomorrow?

Cheers all, could do with some advice. They say things come in three, so fingers crossed this will be the last.

The diagnosis sounds about right. It's not expensive to fix too

    Thanks Celes.

I've seen the howto. Out of interest how would VX or a indy garage go about fixing this. Is there a complete cable part, or is the only fix the howto way?

    Cheers again.

Think there's a How To on the third injector, certainly the Vx dealers know all about it, has been aaan issue.

Interested to know if anyone has done a reseat of the cable and its sorted it, for a while.

Am I right that its just the solder which has broken over time? Or is it something else.

I'm torn if to take it in tomorrow at the local garage, or keep wondering if it will hold for a couple weeks until I can get it to VX.

Well just used some wd40 and some of the wifes cotton buds, loads of dirt come off.

Will grab the kit from vx tomorrow and hopefully it will hold for now.

    Cheers all.

sometimes a good cleaning is all it needs. mine played up a couple of years ago - cleaned it and haven't had trouble with it since.
