    Default advice please

hi everyone i used to be a member on this froum when i had my old vectra sri cdti 150 but i sold it, anyway im looking to buy another one, its a facelift model and its a very good price but it has an intermittent issue with accelerating, before the turbo kicks in every now and again it will struggle to build revs and its a bit lumpy, then its off like a shot when the turbo kicks in, its a 1.9cdti 150, could it just be an egr valve or could it be something more serious, also how much should i be looking at to get the cambelt changed as its due soon and is there any way to check for the dreaded flywheel failure? car has done 98k, cheers in advance

    Vehicle : Vectra SRi

    Trim : XP1

    Engine : 1.9 CDTi 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 66000

Could be EGR, could be 3rd Injector (depending on the age >2007), could also be a knackered inlet manifold (with the swirl bar coming off). The EGR can be cleaned at no cost, new injector wiring £15 and new inlet manifold anything over £600 to over £1000 from VX.

The cambelt job can vary, kits are about £135 and some places can do it for a hour or so labour, some a couple or more.

The flywheel, if knackered will make a rattling noise (initially) with the clutch half pressed (from the near side of the engine bay) and will eventually do it the whole time the clutch isn't pressed - this can be an expensive repair.

Cheers for the reply, when I go to see the car I will check the clutch, it's a 55 reg, will I be able to see if the rod has come off easily enough therefore needing a new inlet manifold, then if it's still attached I'll be able to just get a new egr valve? Cheers again
