Default Vectra Exclusiv CDTI 150 - Onboard Computer

    Hi all.

Im new to these forums so please excuse my ignorance.
I have just bought a Vectra Exclusiv CDTI 1.9 (150) car on an 07 plate, I love this car to bits, its very quick for a big family car and seems to be good on diesel.

    One problem I have is:

How do I get the MPG and mileage left on current diesel etc on my BC?

    Its a (CDC40 Opera)

I have the options on the dash with a big screen (orange) on there it has a button 'BC' I click on the BC and the only option I get is 'Timer' nothing else. I read on the internet that i need to get the tech 2 updated so that it shows the correct information.

I took the car to my local Vauxhall garage at the Arnsion centre in Durham on Monday (bank hol - no mechanics in), this was where the car was originally bought from, I spoke to the guy that was there selling cars etc etc ....he came out and had a look at the car and he said to me that this car doesnt have the option to have that info on the computer and it was only the SRI and the Executiv or something that could do this. I havea feeling that he is wrong? but i have no idea.

Can anyone help me out with this please, and or tell me how / where I can get this information put onto my car?

    It would be reall appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Adam

It is most probably there, you just need to have the unit re-programmed with the correct variant-code.
An Opel-dealer++ (with the GM Tech-2 unit) can program the unit for you.

Someone in your area from the forum may have the equipment to do this for you, probably for a small fee but it would be loads cheaper than the stealers.

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

It can deffo be done, you just need a friendly person with a tech 2, then you go to the board computer and change the code index of the unit. HTH.

That would be absolutly brilliant, I live in Co. Durham, North East ....if anyone is around here that can help me ....would be awsome.

I wonder why that guy at Vauxhall said that it was only certain cars that had it on then, strange -I also have a service light on the dash, because it was serviced but not at Vauxhall.

There is a way of turning service light off but cannot remember at moment. No doubt a member will be along to advise you how

I don't know. On the pre-facelift the models with Trip Computer have a bigger screen to accommodate all the Trip Computer functions, so the screen would need to be changed on non-Trip Computer models.

If the facelift uses the same size screen for Trip Computer and non-Trip Computer models then I suppose it may be possible to upgrade software and enable options via Tech 2. Which begs the question why it was not just simply enabled on all Facelift models.

I hope it is that easy for you, mate.

Hahaha, I appreciate your time take to try and explain it to me ... but I have no clue.

The screen is a large screen and it looks like there could be like 2 more options along the top of the computer part.

This is what it looks like and these are the options I have

This is all that I see when I click on the BC.

    Cheers
