Default Need a CH Radiator-wheres cheapest place to buy in West Mids?

    I need a Central heating Radiator, preferably 1300 x 600, but could get away with 1400 x 600.

Where can I get one from the cheapest in Birmingham and surrounding areas?

Tried the usual DIY suspects and im looking about £50-£60....but trying to scrimp and save ATM.

    Thanks.

You could try Screwfix though I think the price you have sound about right

Thats where I got one of the prices from, I would prefer the 1300 as I would have to fanny around cutting and chopping pipework, etc.

    hmmm - 1300 - Not such a common size
You could go 1200 and extend from the tap outlet to the radiator which would save draining down the system for pipe mods.

    Alternatively to fit 1400 rad....
Copper Pushfit joins seem relaible and cheap these days, and decent rotating pipe cutter (don't use hack saw) will have the old pipe modded in 10 minutes max. I have never done it (I always drain the system) but you might try locally freezing the pipe (think you can get spray freezing agents) to prevent having to drain system.

Will look into this, really want to avoid draining system (AGAIN!!!).

If I can get a 1300 then I can use these little pull extenders on the valves. Current rad is 1350 so wont be much of a gap.

    Final alternative

If pipe are in say wooden floor then extend hole in floor to allow it to slide from say 1350 to 1400

This will depend on your pipe runs, floor joists, flexibility in the pipe etc

Admittedly this is a bit of a bodge job but it may work for you

Thats how I was going to fit the 1400 one, two great minds think alike. Again, though-I would rather the 1300 as I dont want to pull up yet another floorboard.

I have located a 1300.......£50. May just get that.
