Default Told discs need replacing again.

    Hi,
In feb last year my vectra needed new discs and pads at the front. It's a 57 plate, so OK, I agreed amd had them fitted. I put it in again today for a problem with the rear brakes and they now tell me I need new discs front and rear. They tell me the front discs, genuine vauxhall parts less than 1 yr old, are corroded and need replacing. I can't believe this. Why only my discs? The car has been used for normal day to day stuff, nothing strenuous or bad. I cannot see why discs less than a yr old are corroded to the point where they need replacing The car had a service in Oct last year and had 90% left on the pads all round. I am incredibaly upset over this and think there is some sort of shenanigans going on with my local Vauxhall garage. If every other vauxhall car was queueing up with coroded discs I could understand there was a problem with inferior discs. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
Thanks, sorry for being upset but in less than 1 yr I was not expecting this. My colleagues have fords and audis oldeer than my car and have the original discs still running strong.

About 15,000 miles. I've asked for the parts to be held and given to me as I don't believe this myself.

Unfortunately I am at work and can't get there till lunchtime. I'll look at the parts and take this up with Vauxhall. This is a proper Vauxhall garage and it was them that did the brakes in Feb.

even parts sold over the counter to joe public would have a warranty ... the matter of where the car has been is inconsequential they would be covered ....you might have to pay the labout but the parts should be gratis

if they were heavily corroded then i would have expected severe brake judder to be prominant and if they were that bad then then the pads would need changing as well otherwise if they were unevenly worn then they could transfer the wear pattern back onto the discs unless there saying they have "resurfaced" the pads ...

if there scabbed then thats a matter of electrolosis which is normal from the build up of salt and water reacting with metal and is expected .. normal driving in warmer conditions would cause this to wear off

if they were that "bad" they could have proabably just skimmed the discs with a procut lathe which removes the surface of a disc to make them look shiney and new and can be done with the discs on the car for roughly an hours worth of labour ... this would have made the discs look like new and would have still have had plenty of life left in them

really this does sound like the garage is pulling a quick one and i for one would be exceedingly suspicious of their actions

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
