    Default Company Car Advice

My company are useless when it comes to things regarding our work cars. Today I was out driving when I realised I had an invalid tax disc so on the phone & they tell me that's funny it was posted at the begining of the week, very strange why I get home today & it's here with yesterdays date stamped on it
Anyhow I also realised today as I was working on a 56 plate car that mine's a 53 so I'm thinking great, MOT was due by today, I'm 50 miles from home & the car's not insured . Found the handbook & phoned dealer it came from & they said it was registered on the 3rd of September so will need MOT for Monday. Would they of been advised this by mail as I do know of other people who have overlookd the fact their car became 3 years old & needed one.
Well no doubt they're expecting me to go out & do a full days work, surely I should tell them the only place I will drive it to is an MOT station or else they can send someone to come & collect it as it won't be insured to be on the road will it???

    too true Ben..

refuse to drive it as you'll be uninsured to take it to the MOT station..

But is it not insured if it is booked in to be MOT'd? Personally I couldn't care, they left it a bit late & unfortunantly for them I do not make the law, I'm not above the law & I am simply not the law

you can use it on the road, but you will not have a valid MOT on monday, so without that you will have no valid insurance cover as a current MOT is one of the conditions of insurance..

if the vehicle has no MOT then it's cover will be null and void in the event of a claim..get the office to read the small print of the insurance contract

You can drive it to an MOT station with no tax. BUT without tax and MOT you have no insurance so how are you supposed to do this
