    Default Parrot MKi9200 Issues

    Hey guys,

I read all the posts on installing a Parrot kit on this site, and decided to attemp it myself.

I purchased the quadlock SOT lead and begun the install. Fetching a 12v ignition live from the cigarette lighter etc.

It all seemed to be working great, paired the phone and music was coming through the ipod dock. But the phone wouldn't work, it would look like it was ringing, but I couldn't hear the person through the speakers, and they couldn't hear me. The radio would cut out, and all I would get was complete silence.

On inspecting the SOT lead, I thought some wiring may have been a bit dodgy as it was a cheap eBay purchase. Off I trotted to Halfords and got a new lead and tried it again and the telephone worked for a short period. But then the ipod dock wouldn't function.

On the new lead, it has now reverted to the music working (both via the dock and bluetooth) but when trying to make or receive a call I just get silence.

I am running a iPhone 3GS on O/S 4.1.1 or 4.2 and have even updated the Parrot to the latest software, but still no joy.

Everything must be working I think, unless someone has had similar issues and could shed some light on it for me?

Parrot have been closed all over the Xmas period, so will be calling them tomorrow, I've been pulling my hair out.

I know there are issues with the system locking and crashing etc. but this is a continuous problem. But the music works just great.

Sorry for the long post, just really need some help. Maybe I've got a faulty unit.

    Regards

    Luke

Check the parrot website for compatability with your iphone... Not all functions are 100% guaranteed

Update the software mate , it's currently running around 1.77 IIRC

It will help compatibility issues with 4.2 IOS

He does say he's updated the software.

Can't remember exactly but there is a pink(?) lead somewhere that has to connect to one of the mute leads.

There are pictures in this one: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15158

And some info in one of my posts here: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...t=10126&page=3

Can't see a pink lead in the pics but if what I said then about connectors is right, you should be able to find them. I think there are 3 mute leads, experiment with them all until it works. You have swapped over the red/orange have you - that makes the memory work.

Come to think of it, both leads could be on the SOT lead bundle - I've recently updated from the 3100 to the 9200 and didn't have to do anything with mute leads (I don't think) so they must be further back on the SOT lead, not the Parrot loom.

    hey guys,

thanks ever so much for all the posts. I've updated all the software so am running the latest one on the Parrot.

the power leads are swapped round, and have tried it with and without the mute lead which appears to need to go to mute 2 on the parrot. It simply mutes the stereo and stops the CD. without the mute lead the CD keeps playing but on silent.

I'm running the most up to date iPhone operating system too.

On the parrot website it says its compatible with the iphone to an extent, but phone should definitely work.

It's so weird, the bluetooth links, and even allows me to play music via the bluetooth, so god knows why I can't make calls too.

But then on the other hand, the phone was working at one point for a breif period and the music wasn't, it's as if there is a clash somewhere, but I can't for the life of me see or figure out where.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated, cos i'm still totally flumoxed.

    Cheers
    all

As a test just try making calls and dont use it for anything else at all... Start off by resetting the bluetooth unit, battery off the car or disconnect the bluetooth unit for 10secs, then reconnect, wait for it to pair to the iphone and then make a call and nothing else.... report back and see what happens..

ps.. Once a month or so mine throws a wobbly and needs a power off to clear it

I've tried all of that except for the bit where I disconnec the power on the car. Even did a system reset on the Parrot and had no joy, but will try it again tomorrow after work in the daylight and come back to you with the results.

I'll also be phoning Parrot tomorrow, and will let you guys know what they say.

    Cheers all
