i had one a 1.8 sri handle well my friend have 1.7cdti and another has a 1.9cdti the 1.7 got a remap and left the 1.9 was silly fast for a little diesel
Wife has a boxed 1.9 CDTi...handles ok.
Are the CDTI engines the exact same as the Vectra and as temperamental lol
Missus is after another car, and i always end up driving her about in it so the a2 has gone out the window and i've conviced her on an X/pac sri as soon as we have the funds![]()
yes the excact same mate the 1.6 twinport is not a bad one though
Doesnt have to be the fastest, she just wants it cheap to run and insure as the second car...
the 1.7 cdti sounds interesting. gonna have to get on parkers and have a look at the info.
the 1.7 comes in a few diffrent power options must admit my friend 1.9 breacks every day ant the 1.7 bonnet never really bin up
Mrs has a 1.8 SRi.
Bit more lively than my Vectra with the same engine, and handles pretty well I think. Only downside for me is that compared to my Design spec, I find it pretty basic and boot space is limited.
Had both cars 2 years - only one with a failure was a coil pack on mine![]()
i had a 56 reg 1.6 twinport sxi, i sold it as i needed something bigger when baby came along.
one bit of advice...there's no engine temp gauge in the dials, so you cant tell engine temp without going into a 'secret' menu on the cd player.
I discovered that my engine wasnt getting up to temp, it needed a new thermostat and it cost about £150 if i remember correctly! the thermostat comes with the whole metal housing and cant be bought separately. quite a common fault too.
if you go to look at one make sure engine gets up to temp, find the secret menu on google
