Default Which tyres do you recommend?

    Hello all.

Time has come where the tyres on the Vec are only just legal and the insides of the back ones are scrubbed to death because of the tracking being out when I bought it. Question is, what do people recommend on a relatively tight budget? The car does a fair bit of traveling on high speed roads and does take a good blast round wales every couple of weekends so decent grip is a priority.

Just without having a lot of experience in this field, I'm a bit stuck. Nexen N3000's are pretty good but don't last very long, Toyo Proxes T1-R's are a good tyre too but they're not that cheap and I'm not sure how long they last.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

    Cheers.

Might not be the cheapest but I find Dunlops a good balance of grip and longevity. A set on the front lasted me a good 20k plus miles last year.

ot a set of sportmax dunlops on ATM - worked well in the snow and slush and on the melting roads.

Toyo T1R's....yeah they do cost but last well if youre not hamming the car everywhere, plus you have the safety of the grip in dry and wet conditions.

    Hi there,

I searched this forum for tyre advice and a few of the people recomended these Neuton NT5000's for longevity, grip, etc...

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I've bought a couple (arrived next day), and they seem pretty good in the wet ...and snow...

If your planning on keeping it buy the best you can afford like Michelin for monster miles or Continental or Pirelli, etc.

If it comes down to cost then do the best you can.

Neuton NT5000, they are priced like budget but many of us know them and find they handle like a premium and last very much better than most. I got 20,000 miles out of a set on my Saab despite thrashing them relentlessly where Dunlop's and Conti's lasted about 12K

I've stumped for Continentals this time as Toyos and Goodyears are soft as **** and don't last long and with cheaper manufacturers such as Kumho or Falken you get value for money, but the tyres aren't really masters of any situation just a jack of al trades.
