    Default Insurance Are Stupid

Right last year got insured on the vectra when i was only 17, £1400 fully comp (not to bad) me additional dirver and my dad main drive. This year the exact same, apart from me having 1 years more dirving experience £2300 third party, £2600 if i wwant to go fully comp.

But if i change my relation to father to spouse instead of other it goes to £800 for year fully comp. What is going on here like. Thats 1/3 of the price.

Probably cos the insurance companys are becoming wise to parents been insured as a main driver when they rarely drive the car if at all. Sounds as if there trying to price it out

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

And married people seem to get insurance cheaper.

Is the car yours or your dad's?

I am so glad I just missed the ridiculous insurance prices. I was insured FC on my cav GSi when I was 19 in my own name with no additional drivers for £800. And that was a full up policy including driving other cars!

It's stupid because of the amount of claims and greedy share holders. Plus the fact that if they discover you use the car more than the main driver listed on the policy your not insured
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

You can partly blame all the unisured people for that. I'm not saying its right to charge such amounts bt it seems thats the way it is.

In my opinion they are just trying to stop people from driving. Putting fuel and insurance prices up. It's becuase they can get away with it

Why would insurers want to stop people having cars?

If you have a bump and your the registered keeper of the car on the V5 but are only listed as an additional driver on the insurance policy is that not making the policy void?

I know its a lot of rubbish as it seems as if they are just trying to rob you but they will try and sting you any way possible.

my insurance has gone up £280 with another years NCB added im 22 only 2 years NCB tho and 3 points but im still only paying £900

try adding your parents as named drivers and you as main driver it will be alot cheaper than just trying it on your own, also if the car is in your name you could get done i think
