Upgrade time.

Now that I'm 95% certain of keeping my car, I'm going to spend a few quid on it, wheels, exhaust and a new head unit. After trawling through tinternet for most of the xmas break, I found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I'm after something like this anyway, with bluetooth, sat nav and reversing camera capabilities. So does anyone see a problem with swapping my cd30 for this unit. I know it originally comes from China and if any faults it has to be returned to China with the postage split between myself and the seller. I like the fact that this one looks like it was OEM with the same colour lights as the rest of the dash. Is there anything else I would need to fit it? and can anyone recommend a reversing camera for it. Thx in advance Col.

I was thinking about the dab aspect of it, but if it has freeview tv wouldn't that find the radio stations aswell? I only listen to 5live or Talksport on the radio anyway.

i have a sat nav with DVB and it only picks up the tv channels. plus if it did pick up the radio stations then once you drice off the safety kicks in a diables your TV

ok I see what you mean, I'll keep my pure highway dab for that then, because I like going for a drive whilst listening to a footie match and medium wave is poo on my cd30. My mouse is now hovering over the buy it now button. lol.

Thanks Paul, Is it a question of pulling the old unit out and putting the new one in or do they have to be Tech 2'd in and out? also what tool do I need to get the old unit out? I don't think they need to be removed by Tech 2 unless you plan on selling it on. As for changing the clock, I think you still need the old radio for it. Removing the old radio is easy, inside the 4 holes on the front (unless a previous owner has removed them) you will find 4 small torx screws. Unscrew those and put them somewhere safe. To pull the radio out you can buy a set of double din radio keys from Halfords for a fiver or bend an old metal coat hanger into the correct shape.
