Default maserati not as fast as i expected?

On way back from my fiancee's house tonight i ended up behind a maserati 3200GT, an extremely nice yellow one might i add.

Now maserati's aren't a car you tend to see everyday and how lucky was i to be behind one that liked to "test" the car every now and then.

Whilst behind him i noticed he was deliberately slowing down to a snails pace, only to step on the gas to get a buzz, due to cars being infront for a good 5-6miles.

Eventually we got to a motorway where the other cars went straight on and we went right.. Knowing what he was gonna do, i also stepped on the gas just to see if i could keep pace with him. I was so shocked to see that i actually did

Now im not daft enough to think i'd beat a maserati in a drag race but i did find it quite amusing to imagin what was going through his head when a VECTRA kept up with him on a long straight haha.

    Was all legal speeds ofcoarse

Was it one of the originals with the Boomerang tail lights? They were very nice, Bl00dy Yanks put paid to those lights

Yeah I upset an Aston Martin DB7 chap coming back from Courtenays the other month....

He booted it off a roundabout heading up a clear empty bit of duel carriageway, clearly thinking he would leave me behind...

    Oh how I laughed...

ye it was a 3200GT with boomerang lights, really nice car. They should generally do 0-60 in a tadge over 5 secs and should technically wipe the floor with a GSi (which they would all day long with a semi decent driver) but was really surprised that someone who clearly likes to boot it didnt leave me on a straight. Just found it extremely funny to think what was going through his head when a vectra was still on his bumper :P

Guy must have been changing far too early imo or didnt drop enough in the first place
