Default blue plug display into a grey plug vehicle

i might be able to get a display cheap (not exactly sure which type yet as the guy just said it was a mid but he is sending me a pic of the back) the only problem is from what he said it has a blue socket but my car has a grey plug, is there any way of adapting between the 2 or is it just a straightforward compatibility no no. and i assume its for a full canbus vehicle as it is coming with a cd30 although the cd30 is programmed to a tid that comes with it aswell

it doesnt matter if its a bid or a gid tbh cos im only really interested in the fuel economy side atm aslong as i can be fitted

edit: here is a pic of the bits

The plugs are quite hard to come by. I got a guy off ebay to chuck one in for me. FOC! There's also a useful thread on here about which screens HU's and cables are compatible. If i remember rightly it's something to do with a prefix. 2 characters after the serial number e.g. XR.

The pics look like a TID and a GID. Make sure they're married/ divorced if they're going in a full canbus car.

When I installed my CD70 I noticed that it had a grey plug on the loom in my car and the socket on the back of the screen was blue they fitted fine and worked perfectly.

I wasn't quite sure if they would work but they did. Hope this helps.

ok thanks very much atm im just trying to decide if to buy the screen and be done with it or borrow some money and get all the sat nav kit, i now which one i want but i gotta decide if its worth it

the ident on the back of the display is xr and i think the part number is 13 164 972 or similar, its hard to telll as the pic is a bit dodgy, and the guy says its divorced and wants £30 for the display on its own, hmm, decisions decisions lol

according to the info in this thread http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...ighlight=ident it seems ident xr is for half canbus cars whereas mine is full canbus so i might avoid that one unless anyone knows otherwise
