I know Kwik-Fit don't generally have the best reputation, but I have to say my local one, in Welwyn Garden City (Hertfordshire) are spot on.
When I was sorting the front tyres for my 19's, it became clear internet suppliers where far cheaper, but several local places refused point blank to "fit only" tyres.
Kwik-Fit where the most friendly and helpful, and cheapest to fit my own tyres.
I was very impressed at the time, I think it was the depot manager (Darren) that fitted mine, he knew I was nervous, the 19's were mint, they had only been refurbed about 2 weeks previous, but a side wall had failed on me.
Anyway, he was very careful and patient, taking great care and didn't put a mark on them.
Today, I came out of Tesco's to find one of my rears flat, gutted, I straight away began imagining the nightmare of getting the tyres I wanted replaced in time for Sunday !!!
I had a quick look round the tyre and found a screw, thankfully in the middle of the tread.
Had a boot full of shopping (not that I fancy the space saver anyway) and I am only going to use the tyre weld if I have to, so I popped into Tesco's petrol station and pumped it up, hoping it would get me home, thankfully it did, only had about 7-8 mile to do.
Naturally, after my last experience Kwik-Fit was the first port of call, and Darren was the man on the job again, I recognised him straight away, and no doubt he recognised me and the car as we both kind of stick out a bit, lol.
He done a perfect job once again, 19's are not the easiest of sizes to deal with, but he seems to really take his time and take care.
Now imagine my surprise, and I still cant quite get my head around this, after he was all done, when he just told me to drive it away !!! NO CHARGE !!!
I nearly fell over !!!
Just because they had done my tyres for me (the fronts, not the backs, and all they done was fit em, not supply em.) he done the puncture for free !!!
I'm still amazed at this, so a great big thank you and a very well done to Kwik-Fit.
