I suspect I have a failed resistor pack as I have no blower fan on setting 1 but 2,3,and 4 are fine. Anyone know where the resistor pack is located on a 56 plate Vectra C?

remove glove box matey and its on the right hand side HTH
Any idea what it looks like?
ill find one on ebay to show you ok, 2 mins
Many thanks
Here you go HTH
Thanks, looked at those BUT he's saying if it's stopped or only working on setting 4? Mine works fine on 2,3,and 4 just nothing on 1?
still the resistor causing it matey, bout £25 from dealer.
When my resistor went i lost 1,2&3 - tofix mine i bought a resistor from maplins for about 75p and repaired it myself
The resister pack is made up of 2 or 3 resisters...
The speeds are achieved by using the resisters as follows
Speed 4 = bypass the resisters
Speed 3 - via resisters 1 AND 2 in parallel, or a resister No 3 only
Speed 2 - via resister 2 only
Speed 1 - via resister 1 only
So if you lose speed 1, then resister 1 has gone open circuit...
if you lose speed 2 only, then resister 2 has failed
and so on
if you only have speed 4, then the whole resister pack has failed, usually due to the thermal fuse.
This is a theoretical answer, using basic electronics theory... however I cannot state exactly the format / configuration of the resisters within the pack.
