    Default air conditioning

thinking ahead to the warmer months, last summer went to use my air conditioning no cold air,so took it to West Mercia Radiators, they done a check and it was empty so refilled it,it was ok for aprox 10 days and it went empty again,so back to WMR were they kindly filled it up free of charge again and pressured tested everything was ok so off i went, aprox 10 days again it was empty so took it back, again they changed the two valves were they connect the pipes and refilled it free of charge and left it on the pressure test for 30min,no sign of pressure loss, off i went again then 10 days down the line empty again,by now the summer was nearly over so thought i would leave it to later on to get it done, what i dont get if its holding pressure weres it leaking from, anybody else have the same trouble and give me some idea whats happening

If your losing it then it must be leaking. If they couldn't find the leak then I'd suggest trying somewhere else.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Find a place that uses a dye, that way when it leaks out the dye will show up.

    Possibly a dried seal...
Air-con needs to be run approx once every month, to keep the various seals from drying out...
or you may have a very fine pin-hole in the pipe-work etc somewhere.

as said above, get it tested using the coloured die...

I've been wanting to see how well mine works on my Signum, how do you check it? On my Peugeot there's a button marked AC, press it and the aircon comes on.

    * symbol button on the console beside the heater control activates the AC.

Usually you have to wait until the engine is warm
Turn the heating motor to cold, position 4, and face
After about 15 seconds, put your hand about 6 inches from the centre air outlets

I use a thermometer attached on the roof, and watch it fall to the blue digits, around 12'C within about 60 seconds
Well, normally there is a thermometer, but it fell off a few weeks agol bounced on the passenger seat and I can't find it...

That's news to me. My AC starts to work pretty much straight away in the summer and is icy cold at the vents within a minute tops.
