Default Registration light turned always on

Hi , looking for some help with rear registration lights.
They are always turned on until I lock the car. So when i forget to lock the car overnight in the garrage the battery is getting almost flat.

Do I need a TECH2 to fix it or is it some weird wiring problem?
/ BTW have rear parking sensors wired to break light. /

    Any help appreciated

Have you checked to see if the boot light goes out when you close it? If it's staying on then the numberplate lights will also stay on. Could be a dodgy switch or the boot catch needs re-aligning.

The boot light will switch itself off after approx 5 mins. The numberplate lights should also turn themselves off unless the boot is still opened. The boot light will turn itself off after approx 5 mins regardless whether left open.
