vaux main dealers recomend 100 k.but from a personal point of veiw my mate who is a mechanic changed mine at 85k , just to be safe. you should be ok for a few miles yet mate. when you do change it relace the complete kit, avaliable from vauxhall world parts.com quality kit made by gates, and at half price of main dealer...about £85

haynes recommend every 4 years or 40,000 miles, but i wouldn't even think about it until 60,000+.
Or if the car is 4 years old, that seems like a reasonable time to change it. Changing the water pump isn't at all necessary unless there is a problem with it.

Last time I checked with dealer the milage they quoted was 100,000. I got mine done in the 80,000's and was lucky as the bearings were breaking down and didn't have long left, belt was fine.

one of those, if it goes it will go on whatever Millage.

that's correct vauxhall say change it at 100k , but you'd have to be brave to leave it that long.
It's up to you at the end of the day, but 45k seems too early when you compare it to vauxhall's service schedule.

The belts will easily stay to 100k, its the fuel pumps and other bits that have a tendency to go pop.

Though i know people who leave theres till 100k.

M~ine wont be done untill 85k at the earliest unless i think its not right. If VX say 100k, then it's going to be designed to go over 100k.

That's a pretty optimistic point of view. Omega V6 belts were supposed to last 80k according Opel/Vauxhall at the time. Then when they started snapping much earlier, they hurriedly changed the reccomendation to 40k.

True, but vx havent changed the timing intervals and i haven't heard many stories of them going early either. (Not saying that they don't).

They are designed to do 100k on them, and Vx would have allowed a few more miles on that as well.

I'm not denying that they don't go, but im just pointing out that if the interval is 100k, and has been for several years, and alot of people will leave it untill 100k (Those who do things by the book, company cars etc). It's forums in which people will change them early generally speaking, those not on a forum, not technical etc wont bother and they are the majority owners i would say?
