    Default Digital Speakers

Ok guys where is best to get them - I have looked on various sites and shops but they seem to sell them with DVD/Blu ray players. I am wanting them for my PS3 and therefore they need to be 'Optical Out' ones, not the ones with audio jacks.

What is the best? I have a preference for Logitech speakers as I have them for my PC and they are outstanding imho. But I'm happy to know which ones are the best where I can get them?

    Cheers Guys,

i bought a 5.1 system from asda for £40 and its fantastic!! it has 2 source options for audio cables so i put on in my sky box and the other for my ps3 if you are using a hd cable then all you do instead of using an optical is to get the original cable you would use as a scart and plug the red and white into the speakers!! gt5 sounds amazing

Assuming the PS3 is in your living room, an AV Receiver is a good investment - something like http://www.richersounds.com/product/.../sony-strdh500. This is a more expensive route (you need to buy a speaker package on top of this). But it is worth the extra

Sorry m8 the PS3 sits in my bedroom. Just basically wanting a set of speakers with the 'optical digital out' for the connection at the back of the PS3. The phrase 'Hen's teeth' springs to mind.

i was looking for what you were and the ones from asda were the closest thing i could find but like i said before instead of an optical out cable you have to use the one that came with the ps3 and use a hd cable for the picture

you can use any speakers m8 you use the red white and yellow lead and wire it to that as iv got my ps3 on my surround sound with my tv, sky box,dvd player and my pc but a cheap surround sound will do you if you dont wanna spend to much cash or are you just looking for a set of speakers??

Wanting Digital m8. PS3 has an optical out but finding speakers which need that connection is difficult.

Depends what you want. Someone I know has a set of Logitech Z5500 surround sound ones. They're not cheap at about £200 but my god I've never heard anything like it. With proper 5.1 from the PS3 they'd be outstanding. The sub isn't small though. Has the 500 WATT amp builit into it. And believe me when he turned them up for a movie I thought the house was going to fall apart the way the floor was rumbling whilst the sound remained so clear. We won a Sony surround sound kit a few years ago and it's still in our old house. At the time it was worth about £800 and these £200 Logitech's sure as hell blew them away.

Plenty of inputs too including digital. If I could afford a set I'd be buying them in a heartbeat, they truly blew me away with the clarity of sound, bass and value for money.
