    Default Tuning box

Been given a tuning box that is from abrieb chiptuning.

A few things i would like to know if anybody can help please

    1. As anybody else used one of these?

    2. Where does it fit?

    3. How much more performance will i get?

    4. Is it ok to use on my car and what could the after effects be?

    5. Could this knacker my DPF up?

My car is a 1.9cdti 150 auto elite

If you remove the engine cover you will see a silver tube with four high pressure pipes leading into the front of it. At the right hand end of that tube you will see a connector. You disconnect the connector and then connect the tuning box in series between the male and female parts.

P.S. Make sure you attach the box the right way around. The connectors at each end are very similar.

You should get another 30bhp and 50ft/lbs torque.

If your engine transmission has any parts that are marginal, the tuning box will make their presence known to you!

As for the DPF...personally I wouldn't recommend a tuning box with a car equipped with one of these.

If it's an Auto or Estate, then most likely.

Most tuning boxes are usually adjustable. Try adjusting the box to a minimum setting that you are happy with. By doing this you will hopefully not create too much extra soot for the DPF to cope with. Do not adjust it to more than its factory setting.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere to adjust it unless I open it up and I don't really want to do this

I haven't put it on yet

The last thing I want to do is put it on and then find out it knackered something up and face a big bill

It's not new and I don't know the history of it and can't even find out wot extra it will give me?

So I don't know if it's already been turned up or down

Last thing I want is to go from running great to start having issues

I've recently put a box on mine mate, I too have a dpf, I bought the box more for the mpg than the power, but it is nice to blow it's tubes once in a while. It's improved the turbo lag a hell of alot, If you do put it on I'd check what setting it's on first as it could well be on the top one. My mpg has improved aswell.
