    Default cigarette socket

    hi all does any body no if you can change the cigarette lighter socket to a 12v one as the same in the back

    yes it was a pain though, u need new surround new socket,

    You should be able to. My facelift has an accessory socket in the front instead of a ciggy lighter. You just need the right part numbers for the socket and the housing around it.

    All I did with mine was bought the new flip lid and surround and just trimmed the ring slightly on the lid and put that on the existing cigarette lighter.

    Same as mine, under the flip lid, mine's still the same socket (complete with light) and socket mount. I just fitted the lid and changed the surround.

    It's fiddly to do and you have to trim the ring slightly on the lid that goes round the mount, but you dont see that because it's under the light ring.

    If you're not sure, get the bits and pop down and I'll do it for you

    I use a two-way adaptor padded out with velcro pads. This had the advantage of using two devices at once.
