    Default Vectra C-03 reg, -2.0 dti 16(y20dth)

    Hi i have a Vectra C-03 reg, -2.0 dti 16(y20dth), she cant start ive brought a few guys around to look at but to no avail they couldnt help me,she only did 87,676k. now she is just sat there I cant wait to get her on the road again. the other guys who nosed around said there is totally no pressure on the engine. however. all i need is to get someone to tell me how to fix the problem , do i need to get another engine or fix the one that in the car and dont want the cost to be out of hand aswell. approximately how much can i spend ..

    one other thing I need an experienced diesel mechanic experienced with vauxhall vec around area lyneham,swindon etc. PLIZ HELP GUYZ U ARE EXPECTS IN THIS

    The most likely common problem is the fuel draining back to the tank due to an air leak in the diesel pipes, the pump then can't pull it back quick enough to make it run.
    Take the top off the fuel filter - quickly - and see if it is full. If not the fuel has drained back. Top the filter back up brim full and put the top back on quickly. Ensure you have plenty of fuel in the tank.
    There are many posts on here about replacing the leak off pipes (easy), at worst the injector seals (hard).

    I would try to start the engine with easy start or brake cleaner into the inlet manifold (take off the rubber inter cooler hose). You need two people for this - run it for 10 - 20 seconds on the easy start (vary the amount sprayed to change the speed, not too much) until the engine note changes as fuel reaches the injectors. If this works and the engine then runs well, it is the air leak described above.
    If fuel does not come through then you need more help and fear the injection pump has failed/immobiliser.
