Default How has this weather affected your car?

This weather has been pretty tough over the last 6-8 weeks or so, and it seems to have taken its toll on my car

Im getting some suspention clunks/bangs that were not their previously, also the service light has come on even though its not sue for another couple of months(normal servicing not interim oil changes i do myself) so all the idling to defrost and hundreds of short journey with the car not getting to temp has taken its toll. Today i had to jump start the car, probably due to it not having a decent run in this time, so just about to buy all the gear for a full service and hopefully get this done asap..

Incidently, has anyone ever had an eibach spring break on them? As this is what it sounds like on my car - will get it jacked tomorrow for a gander

    So any tales of woe?

Mines been playing up now the weathers returned to normal. I'm fifty miles from work so the car gets a good run every day. Last few days service lights been coming on intermittently for a few minutes at a time but no change to the way it runs. Yesterday on the drive home it was struggling for power really had to rev it to pull away from the lights once over 2000 revs it was ok but not normal same again this morning and journey home. No lights on dash cars garages over night and serviced 10k ago.
    150cdti on 55 plate any ideas ?

Well checked the oil today and all the bouncing off the redline has consumed nearly a litre of oil My downpipe had became loose, not helped by getting caught coming off a ramp, but again when it was gettin revved a fair bit I'm sure it will have aided it along, now sorted and sounding sweet again. Got the same clunks coming from the supension that started when the temperature dropped in November down here. The top bearings are noisy when turning at slow sppeds and some clunks when going over bumps. Hopefully the bearings aren't on the way out as I'll have to remove the strut and hub as unit to keep the supension set up.

So yes this weather isn't great mate

Well, if you have a diesel, like I have, you don't hear what you would if you had a petrol (like my old 2.0T) Ignorance is bliss indeed LOL

The worst part of it all is that people pushing me in the snow idiotically decided to push the spoiler, it's still attached to the car, but not by much

    No problems here

Did have a spring go, but it looked like it was the original, at 87k and 8 years old I can't complain

    Replaced them both
