Default New road tax for wife's car

Tried to do it on-line today, "bit late I know" said I didn't have an MOT? when I checked, it ran out at the beginning of Oct Got it in today and it passed
anyone been more out of date?? Strange how the DVLA tell you when you owe them money but aren't bothered by the safety aspect.
P.S no need to tell me its my responsibility.

Haha, got to agree, but I wouldn't dare tell her that. she is good enough to blame me for all car related problems.

Well the DVLA wont tell you this because they don't deal with MOT's, its the Ministry Of Transport that deal with MOT's, however I fully know where your coming from, its almost like they want you to forget. I guess they have tried as nowadays you get that little pull of sticker that you are supposed to stick to the inside of the windscreen.

I done same on Siggy for its first MOT should've been done Sept 06 realised it needed one in march as it was due for tax 1st April. Was surprised I was not pulled but then the company had put red and yellow chevron on the back with highway maintenance on it as well, met the old bill on many occasions as I was supervisor for RTA call out crews

As for sticker they are c*** the writing for expiry date fades over course of the year

eeek, it's not been the Ministry since 1970
Now administered by VOSA an executive agency of the DfT

Even the certificate name was changed from MoT (which referred to who issued the certificates in the 1960s) to MOT Certificate in the 1990s
In 2004 the heading was changed to Vehicle Testing Certificate, but due to confusion it was put back to MOT Certificate although the reference still use Vehicle Testing Certificate (due to the EU requirement)
