    Default Roadhawk RH-1

Mine arrived today, all I can say is WOW!!!

Simple to set up, simple to use, fantastic quality picture, an excellent product all round!

Granted it's not cheap at £200, but you get what you pay for.

Mounted up behind the rear view mirror so isn't in my line of sight at all, cable then tuckedd up under roof lining, down the a pillar, behind the glovebox and plugged into the cigarette lighter, robert's your mothers brother.

Plenty of videos on youtube of them in action, really am chuffed with it

I agree there should be something in place for discounted insurance etc.

Just praying now that I never have to use the footage as evidence in the event of a claim

Fitted a Smartwitness unit last year, after a disputed insurance claim. Brilliant piece of kit. Records everything from speed to exact position and prevailing road conditions. I assume the Roadhawk is similar. Take my advice get one now!

Any chance you can post a couple of photos of it mounted? one close-up as well?

I have one of these fitted but the colours are all washed out and it looks pixelated, the roadhawk guys say it doesnt look right as well.

Do you use the suction cup or the perm fitting?, if you use the perm fitting how have you attached it to the screen... by this i mean do you have the long piece of plastic at the bottom or the top?,

Sorry for all the questions, but I have been playing with mine in various locations and positions for days now and it's doing my head in as it either shows to much dash, or a washed our bland image.

    Cheers

Just bear in mind the legal aspect in England, Wales and NI.... the recordings made in your private car are classed as recreational photography.... however, you still must ensure the security of all images/recordings in which people or personal information (such as car plates) is identifiable. You may not publish or distribute such images without the permission of those identified except in passing to an agency which may have a reasonable legal reason to view them i.e. plod (but then only in connection with an incident).

Scottish law may be slightly different.

Data Protection Act.... what fun !

If you've got no software just plug it into the pc, but don't open any programs the Pc offers. Then log into youtube, go to upload file and search for the external drive. I'm sure there are many other ways but this is just a simple way I do it sometimes.
