    Default Alternatives to bilsteins

Just had to buy 2 new rear tyres, found a broken spring. What are my shock/spring options .I know you can get bilsteins and spax, are there any others. Not looking at lowering especially. Can you get shocks and springs as a kit, don't want to go to dealers.

Do you need to replace shocks and springs together?

Think a rear spring may have gone on me this morning coming to work but not had a chance to get the wheel off yet to have a look...

Can i just replace the springs with eibachs' (or alike) and leave my own shocks (assuming they're okay)?

Appologies for the ignorance but i know FA about suspension

You can change the springs to what ever you like and still use standard Shocks. But VX shocks are not very good and would be worth upgrading to B4 Blisterines.

Oooh why is this? Do you mean they are likely to fail or they're just rubbish lol?

I may have to stick with just new springs for now, bit of a tight budget this soon after christmas, presumably there is no problem uprating the shocks after i've dont the springs?

BTW has anybody tries SPAX springs? or PI, seem pretty cheap on ebay. I dont want to put cheap carp on it.

    Cheers fellas

Vx shocks are prone to ziezing up, and causing the back end of the car to skip about quite dangerously.

Happened to mine a few years back and was really scarry. Changed them for an aftermarket set from my local motor factors.

My intention in the new year is to change all my springs to Ebeichs, and front and rear shocks to B4 Blistiens.
