End of 2010 Time limit on handbrake Recall for 2004

Just checked with Vx and my 2004 Vectra C is outstanding Handbrake recall.

Their tel no. to check yours is 0845 0902044

They also advised me the time limit for my car end of THIS year.

Managed to get it booked in for the work but thought i would WARN others as I did not realise they put a time limit on these things and I nearly got caught out!

only got my letter end of nov hope mine dont run out end of this year? when did u get ur letter fella?

No letter - just luck that I checked any recalls on this vehicle.

I only bought it in November.

got mine nov too took it in yesterday for as they told me a 5 min job.... waited 3hrs jumped in car 3 miles down the road car died..... got it started limped back to garage an told them said "its nothin we touched" after bit of arguing they agreed to tech 2 it gained a misfire on 2 an 4 plugs said its either plugs or coil packs..... strange how it went in running perfect

this cant be true mines a 52 plate & ive just got a letter off vauxhall dated 3rd dec. stating they have no record of my vehicle ever having the handbrake mod done... it clearly states to contact my nearest vauxhall dealer to return it to have the rework done. no time limit mentioned at all.

Well I am only going off what Vx told me - he said you can have it done any time but if you want it done FOC then to do it by year end.

Maybe he really meant "My boss says if we don't increase the work we're billing Vauxhall for by the end of the year, no one's getting a bonus".

The message came from Vx HQ rather than the dealer stealer otherwise I too would have been more suspicious - their tel no in my first post.

safety recalls can not have a expiry date.

my letter is from Vauxhall HQ with the same phone number & there is defiantly no time limit, just bring it in when you can & they apologise for any inconvienience caused..
