Thumbs up My car drinks VPOWER fuel.

I was always a bit sceptical about all these fuels that gave you better performance, but i really am starting to think that they are better. I have now started to use only VPOWER petrol as i have noticed the diffrence in the way the car goes. Better acceleration and it cleans the engine out, as well and you get few more miles, the only down side is the cost. Does anyone else think this ??.

Personally I don't think they are worth the extra 7p/litre. Fuel is dear as it is. Although I have to say they do as they say on the tin imho.

I've only ever put V-Power in my Vectra VXR from the day I picked it up with 2000 miles on it. Now done 32,000 miles 4 years later

I've only ever put V-Power in my Fiat 500 from the day I picked it up with 10 miles on it. Now done 10,000 miles 1 year later

Both cars sweet as a nut

    V-Power for the win

Ive only ever used v-power in the VXR as when I had the GSi I use to get about 30 more miles to the tank compared to normal unleaded and the GSi also ran so much better IMO

Makes you wonder then. I have more often than not (not being when I am say in wales and need some fuel) filled my 3.2 V6 with Asda supermarket fuel. I can not coment on whether it would do more to the gallon if I put Vpower in it. But I would say I have saved money using "supermarket" fuel than Vpower

Over in Germany we have 95 octane fuel save, 95 octane V power and 100 octane racing...

I go for the 100 octane racing because I tell myself the better burn factor is better for the engine (2.8) and the new iridium plugs...

However I don't believe even with the 'learning' factor on the ECU which is supposed to change the spark timing to be more efficent etc etc makes any difference! In fact I rated the 95 fuel save more.

The 100 octane just goes down too easily especially on long journeys... where as the 95 fuel save seemed to last a lot longer even sat at 120 on cruise on the autobahn covering half of Germany (holland to hannover) with a full car... used around half a tank!

The 100 octane tends to use 2/3rds even when I sit at 90-100...

Oh and if your going to pay more for performance fuel, the stats say you should go for Tesco...

Apparently... its rated as the best fuel by I think Thorney??? May be corrected there. Plus its 99 octane where as some like ESSO are a pathetic 97 and cost a fortune!!!

I did rate the older stuff, However I found that the new 99 (momentum i think) got slurped up (even faster than the shell stuff) and lacked on performance...

All i can say is i have started using V-power, gone thru about four tank fulls and although i am not seeing any great difference in economy, i can hear that injector noise/diesel knock is less and the car definately runs much better. Each to there own i suppose, but for me, it does make a difference. CDTI 120 Estate.

Thats more to do with Tesco sponsoring Thorney motorsport i expect

and i used V=Power Derv in my 150 for a few months, and tbh im now going back to normal fuel.

The fuel difference in my opinion is negligible and the difference in power is a lil but to be honest, at 7 pence a litre extra its to much. Im not paying over 130pence a litre. Not when putting in over £60 a week nearly.
