my wife dropped my brandnew samsung laptop and smashed the screen, it cost me £100 on excess and the house insurance fixed it, it switched on and worked with an external screen but the screen on the laptop was completely shot.... atleast it works now thats all i was worried about,

Just been on the phone to the insurance company about the computers. after 45 mins of me almost crying about damaging 'my babies' (yes, I did actually refer to them as 'my babies'), he's happy with the claim and is arranging for them to be collected for inspection & then repair/replacement.

If they cant be repaired, they (obviously) will only pay out up to the value theyre listed on the insurance at (£1600 & £1000) so theres probably going to be a short fall but their suppliers only pay trade prices (not retail) so we'll just have to wait and see.

Do you have a replacement clause in your policy? if so ask them to collect the old and jus drop off replacements like for like,,,
