Default really annoying and potentially costly problem?!?!?

this has just happened today as i noticed it at tea time, the leds on the cluster, the heater controls and the sefeguard switch, remain illuminated all of the time. they used to come on with the side lights/lights, and when the car was remotely unlocked. however now they just stay on.

also, the dimmer switch, only adjusts the light output on the TID, the cluster displays and the door switches. the leds in the clocks and the leds in the heater controls remain at the same brightness.

now the problem starts here, i noticed this at tea time, i mostly use the car on a night, as i work night shifts, and have only noticed it today at dusk. i havent used the car since then, and already can feel the battery draining, like it turned a few too many times before firing.

any ideas as to what may be the problem, or at least things i can check???

any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Possibly. It might be worth checking that none of the solder has crossed onto another track.

I don't think that's the case, as I didn't do these myself and like I say, they were working fine! There must be a simple yet logical explanation to why this has happened!?!?

You could take each component out and test each PCB as a unit to narrow it down or even eliminate it all together. Start with the clocks as you mentioned the little LCD. Although your best asking one of the professionals on the site what exactly to test.
