Well at last I got chance to test out my 2.2 direct 16v sri today, since I brought her last week its done nothing but snow. I was a little worried as I had gone for the auto, many people said I would start to hate it compared to a manual.
But after a week in the snow with no wheel spinning etc due to the ice/snow control and then today (on private land) I opened her up and to be honest I was shocked with the power return. Must say I am loving the triptronic/geartronic option gives it that manual feel but without a clutch lol.
All in I am a very happy chappy and for a big petrol engine its not to bad on MPG.

For a treat she is booked in for a full service including gearbox oil change and im gonna be looking for some snowies me thinks lol.

lol, I had an accord auto a while back as a little project/sell-on type thing and loved it. Was relaxing to drive, not sure if I could have one as a main car as I didnt feel in control for some reason but for just cruising, it was absolutely fantastic. Id love to try a vectra auto....

I also used to have the 2,2 engine, only in the Vec B. Quite liked it to be honest, not a bad unit by any means..

the geartronic/triptronic option makes having an auto a little fun lol just think they should of put the flappy paddles on haha. But yeah its a relaxing motorway drive, such a lazy mans car. But if you want some fun it can be very fun lol
