    Thumbs up New signum speakers

Just installed new speakers in the front doors. I got the pioneer TS-Q172C 17cm ones. They're a direct fit and come with everything you need plus decent instructions.
Very easy to instal, almost as easy as breaking the little plastic tags on the door card!

They sound better than the original set, which I though were very muffled. i just need to get a set for the rear doors now.

Did u need adaptors/brackets for the speakers to fit or are they a straight fit?

    Default Siggy speakers

Overpriced, maybe? But I wanted something I could fit in one go.

I've heard stories about the autolead (or similar) adaptors being too thick and pushing the door card out, jaming the glove box.

Plus they have all the right connectors, no messing around with bullet crimps and getting the speakers out of phase.

Do these come with Crossovers? I had a Kicker set with crossovers in my Pug and they were the bees knees.

    Tweeters:
I replaced the front door ones with the supplied pioneer items. They have a little filter/crossover already attached to the leads. Needed a little thought how to route the wires though. I cut a little bit of the foam out from behind the tweeter housing.

£180 for the set, not bad. Wish I'd got the rears at the same time. The pioneer site said they don't fit the rears, but the actual packaging and the instructions say they do. What's that famous saying about 2 body parts? Something and elbow?

    Crossover:
There was no crossover unit for the main speakers, so the full frequency range goes to these. As i mentioned above, the tweeters have there own filter (probably just a resistor and capacitor), whether that's for protection or for sound quality I'm not sure.
