    Default why are my wipers now working back to front??

    driving to my mates house and my wipers just started working back to front! wen they are off they now sit in the middle of my windscreen........ starting to get rather annoyed with my new car!!!!

    did you use them in the ice ? if they been getting stuck on the ice , they might have moved on the spline and might just need realighning

    no it was just raining. just gone and held the wiper blade and turned them on, made a funny noise but they seem to be better, they sit about an inch higher than they did before but i can handle that! not needing any more suprises from this motor!

    Sounds like they have slipped on the spline. Remove the caps and check the 13mm nut is tight.
    Adjusting them like you have done could damage the motor or wiper linkage. You couldn't blame the car for that

    i would be checking the linkage first.. , they were prone to failure and replaced with an uprated version.. the old ones have brown cups at the end of the arms, the new type have white cups...

    as mentioned it could well be spline slippage which is unusual but not unheard off.. there is a How2 on the forum that shows how to get at it to check the linkage etc

    cheers guys, prob managed to make the problem worse, good at doing that! but have found a scrappy near me and am getting a new motor and push rods for 25quid. pick it up the morn. just need to get a socket set with the mad sockets required to change it! cheers again..
