Its normal.. the powersteering pulls 80 amps, out of what your car can produce, you cant do anything about it.
Since fitting HIDs my lights no longer noticably flicker.
I went from a 55amp to a 70amp battery and that hasn't helped with mine, although it is less noticeable than it was.
I'm pretty sure someone on here said that the battery required to operate a Vectra needed 66amps although the standard ones seem to be 55? Mine flicker too mate so did my last Astra as well pretty sure its related to the PAS as previously stated.
thanks for all the comments... its crazy that whats obvioulsy such a common fault has no real solution, you would think vauxhall would have jumped on it...
Well it's not a fault really. It's no different from when you switch the kettle on and a lamp in the same ring may dim.
It only happens at low speed/stopped. It's a massive electrical drain from the EPAS. Voltage drops are only to be expected.
Some here in Denmark claims that it helps if you tell the UEC that your cars have Xenon.
dont know if its tru, as i havnt tried it.
