There was a thread on earlier today suggesting they are built into the lock. Some people have had luck with a spray of WD40 I think.
No doubt someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.
having the same problem, passenger front. i just gave it a good squirt of WD and gave the latch a wiggle seemed to work for a while but problem back again. not braved rippin ma door apart yet!
its part of the door lock.. ive got mine working for a few month.. after some lubricant, and fidle with the latch.. ended up changing the door lock (theres a how2 for that)
Yes the sensor is part of the door lock. As mentioned there is a how2 for it. TThe lock is about £62 from the dealer (more if you dont have a trade card). Its a bit fidddley especially trying to remove the lock. There are 2 vertical metal rods connected to the door handle and lock then you have to manoeuvre the whole lot out past the window guide rail. The haynes mannualy says to drill out the rivets and remove the window and window rail but it can be done with it in place... just.
Also remember to disconnect the battery. I didnt and I had my arm in the car door when the electric window decided to come down on its own. crushed my hand but managed to pull it out before it got totally mangled!! It took me about 4 hours as everything seemed to go wrong for me(door lock spring pinged out because I didnt disconnect the metal rods properly for a start!) but some people on here seem to have done it in 45mins!
I'm guessing your central locking isn't locking the doors as it thinks the door is open. There is a how2 for this as well I think but I shall reiterate it here.
1. Close all the doors.
2. Insert key into drivers door and manually lock.
3. The doors will unlock imediatly again.
4. Repeat step 2 about 7 times times.
5. On the 7th time the Central locking is bypassed and the driver-side door stays locked.
6. Go to all the other doors, open them (alarm goes off) and manually lock them from the inside.
7. Press the lock button on your keyfob once to stop the siren.
8. To unlock the car just press unlock on the fob as usual.
Its a bit if a faff especially when its raining as you are there for a minute or so doing this procedure but at least your car is secure!!
cheers guys going to try wd40 firstoff the doors are locking thankfully.. its annoying it dings when you drive off,
sprayed with tri-flow went off for about a week... then back on again, im wondering if i can put up with it until the summer lol...dont like getting cold hands
