    Default headlight washers??

    need a wee bit help with my vectra its an sri cdti 150 nav, and its got the AFL headlamps with the light washer, the problem i have is they dont pop out when they are supposed to, when i switch on the headlights and pull the wiper stalk back to spray the windows the lights dont do it, i can manually pull them out but thats no any good,

    anybody have any ideas?

    i think they dont work bellow a certain temp .....

    that would make sense mate, alot of people said that they freeze up but i checked that they werent frozen,

    Do they spray ok when they're out? The jets are pushed out by the water pressure. Could be a blocked pipe.

    Either that or the headlight pump may be knackered, it's a separate pump

    they dont spray at all, like you say john it could be the pump, nut hopefully just a blocked hose, are they easy to clean out??

    My vec c sri as h/light washers, the washer only work when the headlights are on. Once they have worked they dont work again for up to 10 > 15 mins. after, what i have noticed is they dont spray straight away its normally 5 secs. or so after you operate the switch.....

    There are some logic in the headlight-washers, to preserve the fluid. On mine they spray 1 sec after i press the stalker, and then it is a while again before they will activate if I use the washer for the windscreen often.
    Mine works even if -12 C outside.

    If they do not work at all, I would look at the pump, then pipes and spraybar.
    Popp the bumper off, and you'll have excellent access to troubleshoot.

    They don't spray every time, something like every 6th? but the lights need to be on as well.

    I guess you have tried this?
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!
