    Default mirror advice please

    Hi all hope everyone has had a great xmas, yesterday my passenger side mirror glass dropped out of the wing mirror and smashed so im looking on ebay for a new one, now ive saw ones that say heated mirror glass and mine are heated but do i have to buy the heated one or is it the plastic behind the glass that heats up which is still on the car attached nicely, snds like im thick i know lol

    Hi mate the plastic bit behind is the heated mate. mine fell off the other day if the heated is ok just get the glass that’s what I am going to do.

    You can take the plastic bit off by putting your finger on the top and just pushing it out towards you and it should unclip then disconnect the wires. when refitting the wires can only go on one way. one of the wires is bigger then the other

    Check the mirror on the other side is still securely stuck in place. There were a lot of posts about mirror glass dropping out during the cold weather last winter. Both of mine came loose but fortunately I was cleaning them at the time and they never got to hit the ground, both were stuck back in place using epoxy glue.

    Mine fell out last Wednesday, Vx then insisted that the passenger mirror was light sensitive (have auto dim) but the price was the same as the standard one.

    The guy in the spares dept said he had a lot like this last year.

    I bought a Halfords one for under a tenner, just need to fit it now.
