    Exclamation Interior heating light display

    hi all,
hope you had a good xmas.

I started my 54 1.9 cdti elite 150 hatchback up just 2 hours ago, as i started it i heated the rear & front windows and then it just went off including the lighting around the control panels.

Since i have tried fiddling with the fuses one of them actually brought the lighting back on and then twitched off, i fiddled with it again and had nothing. I changed it with a new fuse and had no luck. I believe its a fuse as it came that time including the panel lighting. I checked both bonnet and side glove & boot fuse boxes, i dont think i have been through everything.

Can anyone recommend any fuses to or anything else that could be the cause.

Any help / comments would be greatly appreicated .

Fuses for the dash panel - are found in the end of the dash board (passenger side)

Normally illumination failure is due to Fuse F12 - overload fuse.
    F10 is for CIM Module
F1 and F26 are for infotainment system
F7, F9, F17 and F19 are for the remainder of the BCM and lightig control.

    Thumbs up Checked

checked all those they are fine, could it be the pollen filter has collected crap from the snow and has blocked it & as safety precaution is switched off & needs a simple pollen filter change?

    Not the pollen filter...
The only thing that would result from a blocked filter is reduced air-flow into the cabin area.
At worst, the scuttle / drain channel can get blocked, and allow water to flow through the pollen filter, and onto the blower motor. The usual symptom of this is for the fan speeds to be affected.

It may be a Vectra-C electrical hiccup.

The quick solution is to pull the power (disconnect the battery) for at least a couple of hours - over-night is best.
For approx 90% of hiccups, a permanent fix is made using this method.

The BCM behind the glovebox, controls all the lighting functions... It is very uncommon for the body control module to fail.
This isn't far from the blower motor, but as said above... I have not heard of these failing.
Hence why I always look at the end of dash fuses first.

There are literally dozens available on e-bay... just make sure you get the correct one for your needs

    Half / full CAN
Standard Air-Con / Electronic Climate Control
    Colour to suit.

I assume, that you have checked the plug at the rear of the panel first..
The panel just pulls out, lever it out with a plastic spatular to save scratching it..
Then look at the connector at the rear...
Ensure that the plug is seated properly and latched into place.
Sounds like a loose / dodgey connection to me.
Check that before spending your hard earned cash.

    Hey, thanks for your reply

Can you give me more information on how to check plug by removing panel & what an heater control unit looks like? Because I cant a single one on ebay for a vectra C only B available. I have 6 fan settings on my car I believe possibly 7 cant remember exactly now.

Any pictures or illustrations would be of great help on checking plug.

Thanks Again ! Will check and let you know as you update me !
