Defrosting the washer bottle?
Evening.
Now we all know about frozen pipes and jets, that's fine. My problem is the washer bottle is just made of ice. It's supposed to be -16 here tonight. What would the best way of defrosting the bottle be? I've run out of idea now. Tried leaving it running on the drive for half an hour hoping the static heat in the engine bay would do it but nope, got a dribble then nothing.
I'm stumped now apart from taking the bumper off and using a hair dryer.

No easy way.
Would need to pull the arch liner back and get a hair-dryer on it.
if you do get it defrosted , empty it out and fill with screen wash 'neet'
Not a lot you can really do given the location of the tank. Direct heat is not a good idea as well as being almost impossible. Indirect or general area heat from a hot engine will take rather a long time given the ambient temperatures and seperated distance between engine and tank.
Use of an additional 'antifreeze' is about the only practical answer. The trick is finding a fluid with a freezing point lower than about -30c that does not affect any of the plastics in the tank/motor/hoses/jets. Cheap vodka possibly, meths, kero .... the choice and mix is down to the user, but check carefully first !!
not sure it would work but do you have fog lights its right next to them! or if you top it up with screen wash would it thaw it out! you are sure its frozen and not the filter blocked if you pull back the arch liner pull out the motor and there is a small black filter that gets blocked just pull it out and give it a clean
park it somewhere hot and sunny for a few days.
It sound like basically we all need to wait for summer to arrive, next October apparently!
