    Default Which diesel?

Hi guys, looking to come back to a Vectra but want a diesel this time. Can anyone recommed which is the best all rounder? I have been looking at the the 1.9 16v cdti or the 2.2 dti but dont really know much about them. Looking for one that is quick to be honest but good on fuel. A remap is an option too.

    Cheers guys

If ur remapping 1.9cdti 150 will go upto 200-210bhp easily but I'm sure the haters will be on here telling you it'll brake (mines running 213bhp with no problems for about a year now did have to get rid of my dpf though only a problem on estates and autos) don't think any of the other diesels are that tuneable.

I'm a hater of the 1.9 150. Far too many faults and fairly common, although mostly on the cars that do loads of short journeys. The ones that live on the motorway seem to last much better.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

have you considered the 3.0 cdti v6, not much worse on fuel, a lot faster, and the added ability to tell your mates you drive a V6 in the pub

Been having a look on Parkers for performance and economy and see there is a 1.9 cdti 16v, 1.9 cdti 120 and a 1.9 cdti 150. Going on what they say the 1.9 cdti 16v is the quickest so like the look of this version. Its the pre facelift im after as im not looking to spend a lot of cash, up to £3500. Should I worry about high mileage?

Is there a difference between the pre facelift and the facelift engine?

I got railroaded into a 1.9 "150" in January this year, not had any problems whatsoever with it, happy with power and economy. The faults (although they can be expensive) are all well known, so if that's what you decide on, go for it - get a good warranty just in case lol.
