There was a Log Burner in the house but previous owner had knock the chimney out in the loft to do a conversion. We brought in a company that fit chimneys in any sort of house ours is from 18 hundreds.
£2000 and two days later we had a log burner working, we use a mixture of logs and manufactured anthracite oval which last 8 hrs thus lasting right through the night. Our burner is alight 24/7 and uses about 25kgs a week plus 2 logs per day.
The oval cost between £8.20-12:50/25kgs. We do have bottled gas for central heating/hot water and cooking. The log burner heats the whole house if the doors are left open. Then central heating in the winter is our back up heating.

Air sourced heat pump used with your wood burner for free hot water.C02 Sanyo range is the best on the market at the moment. If you hold fire for a few months and look for south west heat pumps you will be very suprised at what you will find.I think it costs £2 a day to heat your home and hot water.HTH
