    Angry GREAT end of 2010

The crankshaft pulley went on the 2.2DTi and the dumb woman kept driving it. The red temperature light started flashing and temp. went over 110°C!!!!!
She heard a noise "it sounded as if something fell off" but didn't pay attention to it...

Now I pray the head and gasket are still ok

I know they aren't but if you hear a bang from the engine you at least stop and check? Oh well...

You would think so mate. I dread it if my wife gets a puncture. If it is on the rear, I bet she will drive it so far (if on the way home from work) that she ruins the rim too.

Went out to start the engine...she struggled a bit with the low battery but still fired up.
The crankshaft pulley is laying somewhere next to the engine...
Let's hope for the best in 2011

    Common problem on 2.2dti engines.

Make sure you buy a genuine vx pulley wheel, and not a pattern copy.

There has been loads of people who bought cheap pulley wheels including myself and ended up paying for the job twice because the pattern pulley was the wrong weight.

Hope you get it sorted mate.
