Default Are heated washers any good?

Im using neat screen wash at the moment but the jets themselves are still freezing up at -8ºc. I noticed this morning that my 2.2DTI has the wiring in place for heated washer jets but is there any point fitting them? Does anyone have them fitted and are they any good?

Yes they work , but the problem is all the piping in between the filler bottle and the washers freeze as well so unless your using 50-50 or more the washers will freeze anyway , certainly at -8

    hi
mine work fine and are good in this weather,
they are only to stop the jets from freezing, so you will still need a strong screen wash.
but some say they dont work to well.
so its a try them and see if they are any good on yours.
if you allready have the wiring then its a cheap mod.

If you'd have asked me last week, i'd have said No.

However, I've been playing this week and yes they thaw any snow/ice in the jets.

I made the mistake of assuming the screen wash in the car was the correct strength. It wasn't and was frozen.

Strong screen wash + Heated washer jets =

The weak point has always been the metal jet nozzles, hence why there is a heated option (another debate)
Many other car manufcurers use other materials
As yet I have now seen a replacement for these
