    Default Signum Rear Bumper

    Hello

Just had a merc minibus (cd1) hit me on the motorway up the arse............

Bumper split, exhast surround pushed out + whatever underneath. Just wondering how much a new bumper would be from vaux supplied, painted and fitted?

    Any ideas??????

car worth about 3k - so should not even be close to a write off.

depends if it's done any damage behind the bumper, ie crash limiter, brackets etc, but at guess i figure the best part of £750 to £1000

I think so - only had the car 7 weeks too!

Thing is he hit me doing about 10-20mph - whilst i was standing on the breaks hard to stop me going into the civic in front when he hit - see him coming in rear view mirror. My car did not move from the impact and looks relatively undamaged apart from the split. I am worried the damage is deeper than it looks.

That's a pity, if you had had your foot off the brake pedal, they'd be less damage to your Signum.

Forget the Civic in front, it'd all been the van drivers fault and his insurance to sort/cover it.

But the civic would claim off my insurance...................

I hate car insurance - they will try to wriggle out of eveything

Yep, then your insurance would claim for the Civic repairs off the Van's insurance keeping your no claims intact, and more chance your car will survive the insurance assessor.

Once everything is sorted between insurance companies, it'll only be the van's insurance that has paid out for all repairs to damaged cars in the queue he hit.
