police vectra's

90% of the time i see a copper there in a vectra.or on the t.v all i see is police in vectra's.did they get a good deal from vauxhall or something.cheers .luke

I am a fan of the police programs and noticed all the Vectra's. I hardly ever see police Vectra's when I am driving about though. Always seems to be Ford or BMW down here.

Same as round my end when I'm back in the UK... seems to just be in the cities

I think thre's some discount on vauxhalls up here if you work in the police? missus used to be a copper...

Yep, but only on brand new cars. If my memory serves me correct, its quite substantial at 20%

Think it also includes the like, you know, saab and one other

Our guys still use the latest Volvo T5s

Although they are running around in a blue E reg land rover defender just now

mine used to be a cid car, no high speed pursuits or responses etc in a cid car, car was direct from yorkshire police

Think you may be wrong about this, in London they use all types of unmarked car in high speed responses from Vectra's, Zafire's Passatt's etc etc. In Essex they use Evo's but if it is like when the issued Sierra Cosworth's most ended up in ditches as they could'nt handle them, you can see them on TV interceptors program.

CID just go to investigate crimes after they have happened normally, they dont normally get involved in chases etc. there are none of the normal police tell tale signs on the vectra, the only way i know its ex police is the log book
no holes in roof, dash etc,
