My Dads 307

I know this is our vectra forum but i need abit of advice. My dad has a peugeot 307 hdi and while we have had this cold weather it just wont start in the morning. Ive had a look myself and the starter motor, alternator and glow plugs are all fine there is no drain on the battery. The thing I cant work out is as soon as I jump it with some jump leads using my trusty 1.9 cdti sri veccy it fires up first time. We have tried a new battery and still it doesn't work. Once the car is warm and been run around its fine starts first time but come the next morning it just struggles and sounds like its got no life?

Im just wondering if the battery he has bought is the wrong type for the car although he has bought the heavy duty one for that little extra ummmph. Hope somebody can help cheers

Hi Mate,
Just Sold a 307 HDI.
Had the same issue when the cold weather arrived.
Had to change starter Motor, Local Garage Said it was lazy after the change no problems..
the Car always started when Temp was above 5 deg but any colder no chance, also after running no problems with starting...
Think it was about £115 to get new started and fitted...
